Roda Bashe has been identified as the Somali immigrant woman who found herself at the center of a violent altercation in Houston, Texas. The incident has stirred social media, and a GoFundMe campaign has been launched for Bashe.

Who is Roda Bashe?

Roda Bashe, a single mother and student, experienced an act of violence in Houston, Texas. She was approached by an unfamiliar man who demanded her phone number. When she declined his advances, the situation escalated into a violent assault.

The attacker, who remains unidentified, used a brick to strike Roda in the face, leaving her with severe physical and emotional wounds. Bystanders did not intervene, and the assailant fled the scene.

GoFundMe campaign

The GoFundMe has been initiated by Kiara Davis who claims to be her friend. So far, $17,168 USD has been raised of $25,000 goal.

According to the GoFund page, in the aftermath of the assault, Roda faces a daunting set of challenges. She must contend with mounting medical bills, therapy to aid her physical and mental recovery, and a prolonged absence from work, school, and childcare – all during a critical time in her life.

Roda has chosen to share a video of the assault on social media in an effort to raise awareness about her experience and seek justice. In doing so, she reaches out to the online community for support, highlighting the importance of collective empathy and assistance in such situations.

As of now, the identity of the attacker remains unknown and the Houston Police Department refrains from commenting on the incident.
