One suspect has been taken into custody in the shooting in front of a Popeyes on Tremont Avenue, Bronx. The man has been identified as 51-year-old Salvatore Rivera.

Who is Salvatore Rivera?

Salvatore Rivera, a Bronx resident, has been named the first suspect in the shooting at Tremont Avenue on Saturday.

The New York Post reports that Rivera is a 51-year-old man. He is a resident of the Bronx. A motive behind the shooting that took the life of one and injured three has not been revealed by the police yet. The Post further reports that there is a second suspect in the shooting, but the police are yet to take that person into custody.

The police said that 24-year-old Jeremiah Smith who was shot in the stomach during the incident was recovered alive from the scene. However, on being transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, he died.

Among the injured is a 37-year-old man who took a bullet in his body and is critical at this stage. The Post says that he is fighting for his life at the same hospital where Smith died. A 36-year-old, who took a bullet in his ankle, was the second of those injured. Another 58-year-old was stuck in the buttocks.
