Who is Sarah Comrie?

Sarah Comrie is a Bellevue Hospital employee. Camrie appeared in the contentious video, which showed her in a heated exchange with a group of guys who claimed in the video that they paid for the bike she was riding at the docking station.

According to The Post, lawyer Justin Marino produced receipts proving his client paid for the two-wheeler and stated in a statement that Comrie went on the available bike, “which no individuals were on or touching.”

The scenario swiftly degenerated, according to the lawyer, when a group of five young males approached her and claimed ownership of the bike.

Comrie, a medical assistant who is six months pregnant, has been on leave from her position with NYC Health + Hospitals this week.

Social media users referred to the woman as “Karen” after the May 12 incident that was caught on tape received attention. Marino forwarded Comrie’s GoFundMe page to The Post, appealing with people to contribute to her legal expenses “to save her livelihood and her reputation.”

The campaign, which Comrie’s uncle started, claims that the event “unfairly painted [Comrie] as a racist ‘Karen.’

According to The Post, Marino submitted a receipt that showed Comrie checking out a Citi Bike for one minute before returning it to a Manhattan docking station.

The identical serial number from the receipt can be seen on the bike Comrie was riding when she was speaking with the young men in a screenshot from the video shared by Marino.

Following her furious exchange with the men, Comrie utilized a second Citi Bike, which she checked out one minute later, to make the approximately 25-minute trip home.

Two times this week, NYC Health + Hospitals made a statement on the incident, calling the video “disturbing” when the hospital system declared the patient to be out of commission.
According to the system, she would continue to be on leave up until the conclusion of the incident review.
