CNN anchor Don Lemon is set to return to the network on Wednesday, chief chief executive, Chris Licht, said in an email to employees Monday night. The 56-year-old was kept off-air following his sexist comments on Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley. He will undergo formal training, the memo read.

“I sat down with Don and had a frank and meaningful conversation. He has agreed to participate in formal training, as well as continuing to listen and learn. We take this situation very seriously. It is important to me that CNN balances accountability with … fostering a culture in which people can own, learn and grow from their mistakes. To that end, Don will return to CNN This Morning on Wednesday,” Licht wrote in a memo.

“When I make a mistake, I own it,” Lemon said. “And I own this one as well.”

He made the remark during a Thursday discussion on ‘CNN This Morning’. Lemon said the 51-year-old Haley was not “in her prime”.
