NYPD officer Alexis Martinez died at the age of 26, along with his father in an apparent murder-suicide, that has shocked the law enforcement community.

Their bodies were recovered from his apartment on Wednesday, August 2, in the afternoon following an alleged shooting. The off-duty police officer was part of a baseball team consisting of officers. He failed to show up at a game that afternoon on Wednesday. That is when one of his friends did a welfare check at his apartment, located on fourth floor, in a building at 172nd Street and Fteley Avenue in Bronx, and found him dead.
