A 20-year-old man who went missing Saturday morning in Stillwater, Minnesota, was found dead after searches on Christmas Day.

In a statement, the deceased’s family members told FOX 9 that George Musser had died. More than 100 people joined the search for Musser on Sunday despite temperatures outside reaching subzero.

Musser was last seen leaving Brian’s Bar just past 2 a.m.; wearing a stocking cap, dark blue jeans and a dark gray flannel shirt.

“After 2:20 am, we don’t have any information,” George’s cousin Emily Dalbec explained. “He was not dressed for the weather.”

A missing complaint was filed after Musser left his car behind and his keys were discovered by a dumpster. His wallet was found in a nearby snowbank.

“We are trusting in The Lord during this horrific time that He has guided George into Heaven. Please pray for our family,” Emily said, announcing the death. The cause of Musser’s death remains unknown. The circumstances leading to his death is under investigation.

George Musser’s mother, Nancy Musser said a community-led search began Sunday. Searchers met on the river/east side of the Freight House in Stillwater, according to a Facebook post.

“Dress warm,” said George’s cousin, Emily Dalbec, on Facebook. “There are only two officers working today so this is a community led search. It is very cold please use discretion when searching and we cannot go onto private property.”

The family searched downtown Stillwater Saturday.

“Due to the dark we stopped for the night we haven’t had any success or clues to help find him. If anyone has any information we need it! Thank you for braving the cold and helping today,” she wrote.

This is a developing story.
