Lisa Banes,
an American actor known for her performance in Gone Girl among several other
films, was in a fatal road accident last year. The actor was hit by an electric
scooter while crossing a street in New York and died on June 14, 2021. On
Wednesday, the person riding the scooter, Brian Boyd pled guilty to
manslaughter. Boyd will serve three years in prison, according to the
Associated Press.

Lisa Banes
was attempting to cross a street on the Upper West Side of Manhattan in a bid
to get to Julliard School when an electric scooter hit her. The suspect fled
the scene quickly and later went to a shop in Upper Manhattan to get his
vehicle fixed. Banes, meanwhile, suffered a traumatic brain injury and was
admitted to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital where she died. She was 65 years
old.

was born in Chagrin Falls, Ohio on July 9, 1955. Her training in acting was at
the Julliard School in New York City, one of the most reputed performing arts
institutions in the world. Banes began her acting career in Broadway. Famously,
she played Cassie in Neil Simon’s play Rumors in 1988 with Christine Baranski.
Lisa Banes was also Margaret Lord in High Society. Her last Broadway
performance was in a 2010 revival of Present Laughter, a play by Noel Coward,
alongside Victor Garber.

came one of Banes’ most popular performances in the film Gone Girl, the 2014
American crime thriller directed by David Fincher and written for screen from

died on June 4, 2021. Two months later, police arrested Brian Boyd on a hit-and-run
case. Boyd was the person riding the electric scooter that killed Banes. He was
jailed on a bail of $30,000 cash and $100,000 bond. On Wednesday, September 28,
Brian Boyd pled guilty to manslaughter.
