According to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, Misrach Ewunetie, a missing student at Princeton University, was found dead on campus on Thursday.

According to a statement from Kenneth Strother Jr., the school’s assistant vice president for public safety, and Angelo Onofri, the Mercer County prosecutor, her corpse was discovered on the facility’s grounds at around 1 pm, near tennis courts.

According to the statement, the cause and manner of death will be determined by an autopsy performed by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner. Because there were “no signs of injury,” her death did not seem suspicious or criminal in nature.

The death was described as an “unthinkable tragedy” by the university in a statement.

Who was Misrach Ewunetie?

Misrach Ewunetie was a 20-year-old Princeton University undergraduate student. She had black hair, brown eyes, and a light brown complexion. She was 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighed about 130 pounds.

She was reported missing by the university on October 17, prompting a search operation. Ewunetie was last seen near a residential building on the New Jersey campus, the university said.

She completed the Minds Matter Cleveland programme in 2020. According to a statement from the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland, she also graduated with honours from The Villa St. Angela-St. Joseph High School in 2020.

According to her brother, Eunetie’s family claimed earlier on Thursday that they had been “kept in the dark” by the authorities. He added that they are frantic for information and trying to put together a timeline of her whereabouts.

Her brother, Universe Ewunetie, said her family was especially concerned that she skipped a meeting on Saturday concerning her citizenship.

Before the body was found, he added of university officials and the prosecutor’s office, “There’s no constant update or interaction with us. We’re really kept in the dark.”

Universe also described his sister as a “precious, beautiful soul” who was a “great listener” and cared about “people beyond her.”
