The man who was shot and killed at an animal hospital in Shively on Sunday evening has been identified by authorities. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the individual as Trent L. Taylor.

Who was Trent Taylor?
Trent Taylor was a 21-year-old who was killed from injuries sustained in the shooting at Shively Animal Clinic on Sunday evening. He was pronounced dead at the University of Louisville Hospital from a gunshot wound, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
The incident allegedly took place in the 2400 block of Dixie Highway around 6:30 p.m., according to Shively Police. The fight that started inside the building when the situation was first reported to dispatchers later turned into a shooting.

According to Shively Police Sergeant Jordan Brown, all parties were accounted for on Sunday. The shooting was determined to be a homicide. There was no additional information given.
Shively Animal Clinic is situated at 2401 Dixie Highway in Louisville. It is a private veterinary and pet care business in Kentucky. According to authorities, this was an isolated event, and the neighborhood is not currently in danger.
The suspect in the case is allegedly a man named Jayme Bond. According to alleged reports, Jayme may have refused to pay the dog’s cost, which might have led to a disagreement.
In a Facebook message, she had written, “I’m sorry but there are times when you don’t have the money and are falling on hard times and your baby gets sick and you can afford it and you can’t get credit Lord knows if it was my baby I’m getting my dog one way a another I don’t know my dog is like one of my kids.”
