Aiden Sean Fucci was a 14-year student attending Patriot Oaks Academy in St. Johns County, Florida. On May 9, 2021, he killed 13-year-old Tristyn Bailey by stabbing her 114 times. Fucci, at first, was arrested on the charge of second-degree murder. The charge was soon changed to the first-degree when his motivation and predetermination were confirmed.

Tristyn Bailey was a 13-year-old teenager studying in the same school as Aiden. One of five siblings, she was also a cheerleader at the school. Aiden lived close to where Tristyn lived, near Durbin Crossing in St. Johns County.

While Fucci did not have any prior criminal records, numerous interviews with peers revealed that Fucci had violent fantasies, which he often talked about. He spoke of having the urge to murder someone by slitting their throat. The thought of killing someone satisfied him, according to Fucci’s girlfriend. His friends also corroborated that the 14-year-old practiced stabbing motions with a knife. The young teenager was also a regular drug user.

According to reports, Fucci’s choice to attack Trystan was utterly random. On the night of the murder, Fucci had taken Trystan’s number from one of his friends and asked her to meet him at a friend’s house. Luckily, the two teenagers’ interaction and Tristyn’s last sighting were caught on video.

As per the footage, Tristyn and Fucci were seen walking from a residence toward where her body would be found later that night. The footage also captured Fucci fleeing from the scene with his shoes in his house approximately an hour later.

With no signs of Tristyn, she was soon reported missing by her parents. The police recovered her body near Jacksonville, Florida. According to autopsy reports, Tristyn had numerous stab wounds on her hands, back, legs, shoulder, and head. She had also sustained many defensive injuries.

Evidence soon revealed Fucci’s relation to the crime when the bucket knife discovered near Bailey’s body was identified as Fucci’s. His clothes and shoes were discovered at his home, with traces of blood and blood found in the bathroom sink and drains. DNA evidence, cell phone records, and video evidence were damning evidence for Fucci.

The evidence, along with the brutality of the crime, was the prime factor behind his offense being changed to that of the first degree. Fucci was also known to carry a knife on him at all times and show it off to his best friend and girlfriend.

With damning evidence against Fucci and the sheer brutality of his crime, Fucci changed his verdict to a guilty. As a result, Fucci was charged as an adult and sentenced to 40 years to life in prison on 24th March 2023.

The judge can review his sentencing after Fucci serves 23 years per Florida Law. With evidence of Fucci’s misbehavior while in jail and his violent fantasies, it is unlikely that Fucci’s sentencing will be altered.
