The Hunter Biden inquiry might go into a new and more important step when Devon Archer meets with the House Oversight Committee on Monday. However, according to recent court records, the Justice Department has been calling for Archer to report to prison.
The family friend and former business partner of Hunter Biden, Archer, is scheduled to give a testimony about the level of President Joe Biden’s involvement in his son’s international business transactions. Thus, the president can become further involved in this scandal that he has so far managed to escape.

Despite being found guilty of two felonies in 2018 for his involvement in a scheme to swindle a Native American tribe, Archer’s 2022 sentence has been continually delayed due to a protracted series of appeals.
Now, the trial judge Ronnie Abrams received a letter from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Manhattan. Following the Second Circuit Court of Appeals’ decision to confirm Archer’s one-year sentence, they requested that she set a date for him to report to jail.

Matthew Schwartz, Archer’s lawyer, promised to submit a formal response to the US Attorney’s Office’s request by Wednesday. He further mentioned that, despite claims that the DOJ letter was an intimidation technique, his client would still testify as scheduled.
“We are aware of speculation that the Department of Justice’s weekend request to have Mr. Archer report to prison is an attempt by the Biden administration to intimidate him in advance of his meeting with the House Oversight Committee,” Schwartz said in a statement, per Politico.
The closest business ally of Hunter Biden to address Congress thus far will be Archer. Together, they served on the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company, and through their investment company Rosemont Seneca, they worked on a variety of other corporate transactions.
