North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum was rushed to a hospital on Tuesday after suffering an injury while playing a game of basketball with his staff in Milwaukee.
It is presently unclear whether the 67-year-old will be able to attend the first Republican Presidential debate, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday night. According to a standing arrangement plan shared by Fox News, Burgum was slated to stand next to Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) on the far right side of the debate stage.

While the debate excludes former President Donald Trump, who is expected to surrender himself on Thursday, just hours after the debate, the event will include eight GOP candidates looking to get ahead in the race to the White House. The candidates are also scheduled to visit the event site on Wednesday afternoon for a walk-through. It is unclear if Burgum will be one of the candidates who will be visiting the venue before hand. It is also being questioned if he is going to miss the event out all together.
The debate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, begins at 9 pm EDT.
In order to qualify for the debate on Wednesday, candidates had to meet a number of criteria set by the Republican National Committee, including achieving 40,000 individual campaign donations. They were also required to have at least 1% support in three separate national polls, or two national polls and one from an early presidential primary state such as Iowa.

They were also required to sign a pledge to support the Republican party’s eventual presidential candidate. Trump refused to sign the pledge. He has come up with his own method to steal attention away from the GOP’s first primary debate, which will see candidates such as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former United Nations ambassador Nikki Hale, ex-New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswam, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, Mike Pence, former vice-president to Trump, and former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, take the stage.
Trump plans to steal the limelight by releasing his interview with Tucker Carlson at the same time.
