The Uttar Pradesh Police have registered a case against Aam Aadmi Party MLA Kuldeep Kumar over his visit to Hathras on October 4, news agency ANI reported. The case against Kumar was registered under the Epidemic Diseases Act for visiting Hathras despite having tested positive for coronavirus.

The AAP leader had announced on Twitter that he had tested positive for coronavirus on September 29. Five days later, he posted videos of his visit to Hathras to protest against the alleged gang-rape and subsequent death of a 19-year-old woman in the district.
