Indian cricketer Washington Sundar on Wednesday took to Instagram to thank business tycoon Anand Mahindra for gifting him Mahindra Thar SUV. Notably, the billionaire had earlier promised to gift the car to star debutants after getting impressed by team India's performance during the India-Australia test tour in Gabba.

"Filled with immense gratitude to Shri Anand Mahindra for this wonderful Gift & all the support, encouragement that you provide us youngsters. Iā€™m certain that your continued support will motivate many to take up a sport and bring many more laurels to our country! šŸ‡®šŸ‡³šŸ˜Š Many thanks and best regards to you sir," Sundar wrote sharing a picture of himself with his new car.

Sundar made his Test debut for the Indian cricket team in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in Australia. He became a key player for the Indian squad after the win in the tour Down Under. Sundar scored 62 runs in his maiden Test match and helped India storm back into the fourth Test against the Australian team.

The 21-year-old cricketer is currently gearing up for the 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which will begin on April 9. He will be playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. 

Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on Mumbai Indians in the first match of IPL 2021 that will be held in Chennai on Friday.
