Washington Wizards on Tuesday extended their ongoing winning streak to five games after beating Los Angeles Lakers in over time at Staples Center, reported AFP. They beat Lakers 127-124 after being down by 17 points. 

In their winning streak, Wizards have beaten the Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets, Denver Nuggets and the Trail Blazers. Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal finished with 32 and 33 points respectively. 

LeBron James led the Lakers offense and scored  a team-high 31 points. However, they missed two chances to force a double overtime and lost their third match in a row. 

In the other games of the night, Donovan Mitchell finished with 23 points and eight assists as the NBA-leading Utah Jazz beat  Charlotte Hornets  132-110. 

Tim Hardaway scored a team-high 29 points as the Dallas Mavericks beat Memphis Grizzlies 103-92 victory at the American Airlines Center. 

On Saturday, Lakers lost to Miami Heat that saw Jimmy Butler and Kendrick Nunn combine for 51 points, reported AFP. This was the Lakers' third loss in four games.

Lakers have been suffering ever since star forward Anthony Davis' right Achilles tendon injury.
