Nusrat Jahan is an actor who appears predominantly in Bengali Cinema. The actor-turned-politician joined the Mamata Bannerjee led the party in 2019.
On Wednesday evening, Nusrat Jahan was admitted to a private hospital in Park Street, Kolkata. She gave birth to a baby boy at 12.20 pm. Nusrat and the baby are currently doing fine and being kept under observation, the report said.
Jahan's actor-friend Yash Dasgupta was present at the hospital, a film industry source said.
Nusrat's marital life, however, became a controversy earlier in Juen when she and her husband Nikhil Jain announced divorce alleging that Nusrat tried to dig money out of him and had an extramarital affair as well.
In response, the TMC leader released a seven-point statement in which she alleged that her belongings, such as family jewellery and several other assets, have been "illegally held back". She also alleged that her funds from various accounts were “mishandled" without her knowledge.
Nusrat and Nikhil have been separated since November 2020.
Nusrat Jahan got married to businessman Nikhil Jain in Bodrum of Turkey in 2019 in an intimate ceremony. In her statement, she also added that because their wedding took place as per Turkish law, it stands annulled in India.
Media reports of Nusrat dating co-star and close friend Yash Dasgupta, who was also present at the hospital during her delivery, have been doing the rounds ever since the duo was spotted in Ajmer in January.
Nusrat, who is a prominent Bengali language actor made. Her screen debut was in Raj Chakraborty's 'Shotru'. She then appeared in the film 'Khoka 420', under the banner Eskay Movies.
