Entrepreneur and actor Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra was arrested on Monday night by the Mumbai police in a case related to the alleged creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some apps, according to a senior police official.
“There was a case registered with Crime Branch Mumbai in February 2021 about the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some apps. We’ve arrested Mr Raj Kundra in this case on 19/7/21 as he appears to be the key conspirator of this. We have sufficient evidence regarding this. Investigation is in progress please," said a statement released by the Mumbai Commissioner of Police.
Who is Shilpa Shetty?
Shilpa Shetty is an Indian actor, film producer, dancer, author, businesswoman, and former model who predominantly appeared in Hindi-language films. The actor, a fitness icon for youngsters at the age of 46, has been the poster girl for a holistic wellness app, the Shilpa Shetty app.
The app features Shetty's yoga routine, tips, training, and techniques.
She made her leading debut with 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari'. In the film, Shilpa played a dual role. The film also features superstar Akshay Kumar.
Shilpa then went on to act in several films like 'Dhadkan', 'Indian', 'Apane' and 'Rishtey' among many others.
Shilpa rose to global prominence in 2007, after she participated in the fifth season of the UK reality show 'Celebrity Big Brother.' During her stay in the house, Shetty received much international media coverage and attention for the racism she faced by her fellow contestants and for ultimately winning the show.
This break was followed by her hosting the second season of the Indian reality show 'Bigg Boss.' Since then, Shetty has taken on the role of judge for several reality shows like 'Dance Deewane', 'Jhalak Dikhla Ja' and 'Nach Baliye.'

Shilpa Shetty married businessman Raj Kundra in 2009. She has two kids with Kundra -- a boy, named Viaan Raj Kundra, and a girl.
In February this year, actor Sagarika Shona had alleged that a famous businessman and the husband of a well-known actor was running a porn racket along with his aides. A case was registered on February 4 at the Malwani police station in suburban Mumbai.
