SEAL Team Six‘ that killed Osama bin Laden during a raid on the al Qaeda leader’s compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan on May 2, 2011, was also racing against time to scoop up his personal belongings before the Pakistani military arrived. The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has since made information on many of the recovered materials available to the public, providing insights into the man behind the 9/11 attacks. Navy SEALs retrieved about 100 flash drives containing Osama’s emails, which a courier would send from an Internet café, revealing he was part of al Qaeda operations even after the terror group’s mantle had apparently been take on by Ayman al-Zawahri, according to history.com.

The SEAL team also recovered Osama‘s 228-page journal detailing his conversations to family members between February and April of 2011. Osama felt the “chaos” unleashed by the leadership-less 2011 Arab Spring uprisings provided al Qaeda “best environment” to spread its thoughts and ideas.

There was also a family video from bin Laden’s son Hamza bin Laden’s wedding to the daughter of al Qaeda leader Abu Muhammad Al-Masri in Iran.

A trove of video games recovered from the compound included Half-Life, Super Mario Bros., Yoshi’s Island DS, Final Fantasy VII, Dragon Ball Z, and the counter-terrorist Counter-Strike.

Osama’s pre-recorded videos to followers and clips showing him practicing for the same were also discovered in the compound.

Disney films like Antz, Cars, Chicken Little and Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs were also found at the Abbottabad compound, but it’s likely they could have been watched by Osama’s four youngest children who were under the age of 10 at the time of his death.

It seems Osama was also curious about his public image and had stored on his computer several documentaries including Biography–Osama bin Laden and the 2008 comedy documentary Where in the World is Osama bin Laden.

Osama’s personal library contained books on popular conspiracy theories on 9/11, The Committee of 300, and the Illuminati. He also owned several books on American military and diplomatic history like Bob Woodward’s Obama’s Wars, Noam Chomsky’s Necessary Illusions: Thought Control in Democratic Societies and Robert Hopkins Miller’s The U.S. and Vietnam 1787-1941.

The CIA is yet to release details of the reportedly large collection of pornographic material recovered from the Abbottabad compound.
