Jim Hanks, an American actor, voice actor, and director, was the voice of Woody in all of the Toy Story Treats interstitials, Buzz Lightyear in Star Command: The Adventure Begins, the Toy Story: Animated Storybook, as well as various Toy Story video games and merchandize.
Born on June 15, 1961, James Mathew Hanks is younger brother of actor Tom Hanks.
While appearing on The Graham Norton Show back in 2011, Tom Hanks revealed that it was not him but his brother who had voiced the character.
“No, it’s my brother Jim,” Hanks admitted. “There are so many computer games and video things and Jim just works on those all year long.
“[Disney] said, ‘You don’t want to do this’,” Hanks explained, while talking about the smaller Woody roles between full Toy Story films.
“So I said, ‘Get my brother Jim, he’ll do it’. So that’s my brother Jim.”
Meanwhile, Jim Hanks has played numerous minor roles in film and guest appearances on television and has also produced, directed, and filmed several short films. His debut was the 1993 movie Buford’s Beach Bunnies. He is married to actress Karen Praxel.
