Amazon Quiz: In the NBA each quarter of this game is of how many minutes?

Options:

10 minutes

11 minutes

12 minutes

13 minutes

Answer- 12 minutes

Basketball was first played in two 15-minute halves when it was created by Dr. James Naismith in 1891. However, when the NBA took over in the 1940s, administrators realised that spectators would be miffed by the brevity of the games. They changed it to four quarters of 12 minutes each, which made the game last little over two hours.

While there is a 12-minute time limit for each quarter, the entire process normally takes 25 to 30 minutes. This is the point at which fouls, timeouts, pauses, and free throws are taken into account.

The only league with this type of game structure is the NBA.

The NBA originally debuted in 1946 as the Basketball Association of America, and it operated under that moniker for three years before combining with the National Basketball League in 1949 to become the NBA. The BAA had 11 clubs when it first began play in 1946, but four of them left before the new season began. The BAA, which had gained a lot of ground on its rival the NBL despite losing four teams, was able to lure four of the NBL’s original clubs to the BAA in 1948.

Financial issues dogged the league from the outset, and because the NBL clubs that joined during the merger were in smaller cities, this was especially true for them. Frank Zollner, the owner of the Fort Wayne Pistons, a former NBL team, played a significant role in ensuring the NBA’s financial stability during this period.
