Options:

Puducherry

Thrissur

Indore

Chandigarh

Answer- Indore

Indore has ranked India’s cleanest city for six consecutive years. The announcement of the most recent rankings happened last week. The government of India identifies the cleanest city and the cleanest state in the country through Swachh Survekshan, a cleanliness survey every year. Madhya Pradesh, the state that houses Indore, is the cleanest city in India.

Announcing the awards, Indian Vice President Draupadi Murmu said: “The continuous efforts of central and state governments and all citizens over the last eight years are behind the success of the Swachh Bharat Mission. Our Safai Mitras have played the most important role in achieving this success. They worked continuously for maintaining cleanliness even during the COVID pandemic.”

Indore also ranked as India’s only seven-star garbage-free city. Eleven other cities, including Surat, Bhopal, Mysuru, Navi Mumbai, Visakhapatnam and Tirupati have received 5-star garbage-free certifications.

While Indore was the cleanest city, Surat in Gujarat was adjudged the second-cleanest city in the country. Navi Mumbai came third.
