Amazon Quiz: Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story’ is a new book released by which singer?

Options:

Bruce Springsteen

Sting

Ed Sheeran

Bono

Answer- Bono

Bono’s work has received a great deal of attention because he is one of the most recognisable musicians and the cofounder of the charities ONE and (RED). However, Bono takes up the pen in Surrender and writes for the first time about his incredible life and the people he has shared it with. From his formative days coming of age in Dublin, where he experienced the unexpected passing of his mother at the age of fourteen, to U2’s unexpected rise to becoming one of the most influential rock bands in collective memory, to his more than two decades of activism devoted to the fight against AIDS and extreme poverty, Bono tells his story in his distinctive voice.

Few musicians have ever had the level of global success that U2, led by singer Bono, have. The band had two generally well-received albums under their belt before making it big with War in 1983 and The Unforgettable Fire in 1984.

Sting, Bono’s friend and the lead guitarist of U2, describes the singer as “chairman and founding member of Over-Achievers Anonymous, with an irrepressible lust to be great and a lust for life”.

Bono was criticised by many in the aid community, despite the fact that he was effective in generating awareness, for his readiness to collaborate with individuals that many progressives view as inherently immoral, most notably President George W. Bush, in order to try and secure more funding for AIDS programmes and debt forgiveness for underdeveloped African nations.
