Blackpink is a K-pop girl group from South Korea. It is formed by YG Entertainment. The quartet consists of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa. The group made the big debut in August 2016 with their single album Square One. The album featured hits “Whistle” and “Boombayah”, which were the first number-one entries on South Korea’s Gaon Digital Chart.
The quartet is the highest-charting female Korean act on the Billboard Hot 100. It peaked at number 13 on the Billboard 200 with their hit song “Ice Cream”, pop star Selena Gomez has featured in that song.
The band peaked at number two with The Album (2020). This was also the first-ever album by a K-pop girl group to sell more than 1 million copies.
