Amazon Quiz: Which is the largest living animal?

Options:

Elephant

Blue whale

Snake

Ostrich

Answer- Blue whale

The blue whale, which may weigh up to 200 tonnes, is the biggest animal in the world (approximately 33 elephants). The heart of a blue whale is comparable to that of a Volkswagen Beetle. It can devour up to four tonnes of krill every day and can hold one tonne in its stomach.

The bodies of blue whales are typically long and thin. The name “blue whale” refers to its mottled blue-gray hue, which appears pale blue beneath water. The mottling pattern can be utilised to distinguish individuals and is changeable.

They are louder than any other animal on the planet, even louder than a jet engine. Their calls are louder than a plane, which is just 140 dB louder. They most likely use their low-frequency whistle, which can be heard for hundreds of miles, to draw in other blue whales.

Being at the highest level of the food chain, whales are crucial to the health of the marine environment as a whole. The blue whale was a significant target for whaling during the 20th century, and even after it was protected and commercial whaling ceased in 1966, the former Soviet Union continued its exploitation attempts.
