Amazon Quiz: Who recently said: “I have never liked the word retirement. The best word to describe what I’m up to is evolution.”?

Options:

Serena Williams

Mousa Dembele

Mithali Raj

Suresh Raina

Answer- Serena Williams

Legendary tennis player Serena Williams stated in a Vogue article that she is thinking about retiring from tennis. Williams bemoaned the fact that she could have kept playing if she had been a man. She wrote,” I’d be out there playing and winning while my wife was doing the physical labour of expanding our family”.

She further stated,” I have never liked the word retirement. The best word to describe what I’m up to is evolution. I’m here to tell you that I’m evolving away from tennis, toward other things that are important to me. A few years ago I quietly started Serena Ventures, a venture capital firm. Soon after that, I started a family. I want to grow that family.”

The 23-time Grand Slam winner also talked about not being able to reach the record of most career grand slams,” There are people who say I’m not the GOAT because I didn’t pass Margaret Court’s record of 24 grand slam titles, which she achieved before the “open era” that began in 1968. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want that record. Obviously I do. But day to day, I’m really not thinking about her. If I’m in a grand slam final, then yes, I am thinking about that record. Maybe I thought about it too much, and that didn’t help. The way I see it, I should have had 30-plus grand slams.”
