The Taliban took over the capital city of Kabul on Sunday and the Ashraf Ghani government has fallen after the President fled the country. This comes after US withdrew its troops from Afghanistan nearly after a decade.

The Taliban is now controlling most parts of the country and this has led to panic and chaos among people. US President Joe Biden, who committed to bring back his troops by September, is now facing global questions about his approach to the conflict. The condition is Afghanistan is worsening and Afghan nationals in the US on Monday protested against Biden outside White House. In a video shared by news agency ANI on Monday, Afghan nationals can be seen gathered outside the White House, shouting slogans such as “Biden you betrayed us”, “Biden you are responsible”.

The protesters condemned the Taliban’s actions and said Afghanistan’s citizens don’t deserve any of this. “Death to Taliban” was another slogan that echoed outside President Biden’s official residence.

One of the protestors said now the Afghan women will have no freedom, adding that her family is there and she was dying every minute.

Hafiza says her 21-year-old nephew was trying to come out of Afghanistan. “He was to get his visa and he would then come to us, but now we don’t know what lies in his future,” she told ANI.

There has been no official statement from Joe Biden, who ordered the pullout of US troops from Afghanistan. According to ANI, he is on a vacation at the Camp David presidential retreat in Maryland.

Meanwhile, former US president Donald Trump blamed Biden for the crisis in Afghanistan and demanded his resignation. He issued a statement and said it was time for Joe Biden to step down.

On Monday, Taliban fighters declared the war in Afghanistan is over after taking over Kabul. Issuing a statement, a Taliban spokesman said today was a great day for the Afghan people and the mujahideen. “They have witnessed the fruits of their efforts and their sacrifices for 20 years.”
