Billie Eilish was featured in the recent British Vogue cover page with a blonde hairdo and custom Gucci lingerie.
The 19-year-old artist went from a dark aesthetic with jet black hair and neon green roots to vintage-inspired blonde hair with corsets and lingerie. In her interview with Vogue, she admits that the new shoot is bound to start a controversy. Typically, the singer is seen sporting baggy outfits as she is struggling from depression induced with body image issues.
She imagined critics commenting “‘If you’re about body positivity, why would you wear a corset? Why wouldn’t you show your actual body?’”

She added, “My thing is that I can do whatever I want. It’s all about what makes you feel good. If you want to get surgery, go get surgery”.
According to the pop star, the media representation of the “classic hot girl” stereotype has greatly impacted her. Hence, now she wants to feel empowered no matter if she is wearing extra-large clothes or custom corsets.
“I feel more like a woman now” the singer admitted to the agency.
Eilish further said that this is the first time she has done something like “I’ve literally never done anything in this realm at all”.
Growing up the artist was uncomfortable with her body and found solace and a level of safety under oversized clothes. But her unconventional wardrobe decision was met with judgements and intense scrutiny.
