If we tell you that it’s been eight years dancing and grooving to the tunes of our favorite K-Pop band BTS, would you believe? Well, that’s true. BTS, a band that became a global sensation soon after its debut, is celebrating its eighth anniversary on Sunday. The band artists have earlier announced that their eighth anniversary with fans will be a two-day mega event, titled “BTS 2021 Muster SOWOOZOO.”

Today we know BTS as one of the most dominating bands in the global music industry. But their story goes way back. Here’s a look at BTS’ exceptional journey to fame.

The all-boys K-pop band released its first music video “No More Dream” in June 2013. Their first album “2 COOL 4 SKOOL” witnessed decent success, placing tenth on a monthly Korean music chart a month after release

But they rose to fame with a Korean weekly music performance show. This is counted as the first of band’s many feats when few years after their debut BTS in 2015 won on Korea’s weekly performance show. They performed their first single “I NEED U.”

Around a year after their debut, the fans of the band formed an official fan account of the band called BTS Army.

In November 2013, the band won its first award for “Best New Artist” at Melon Music Awards.

Since then, the BTS has continued to shatter the records one after the other with their chart-breaking tracks. In March, BTS’ “Map of the Soul: 7” album became the band’s fourth track to top the Billboard 200 chart.

In 2019, BTS became the first K-pop artist to present at the Grammy Awards.

The “Map of the Soul: 7” recorded 347,000 album sales and over 74 million on-demand streams. It was the largest week for any album in 2020, reported Billboard.

Recently, BTS topped a Guinness World Record for most viewed concert live stream in a virtual concert. The stream was viewed by over 700,000 fans globally.

Earlier, on May 21 BTS released their most awaited song ‘Butter’, which broke the band’s own record with 137 million views in just 24 hours.
