American political strategist and commentator Ana Navarro has hit back at Donald Trump Jr. over comments about her obesity. Navarro and co-host Sunny Hostin, who are both fully vaccinated, tested positive for COVID-19 just before a live interview with US Vice President Kamala Harris on ABC’s ‘The View’ on Friday. Hostin and Navarro subsequently tested negative twice in rapid and PCR tests, CNN reported. Harris, who was later interviewed remotely, hailed Sunny and Ana as “strong women” and said the fact they were doing “fine” highlighted the importance of  getting vaccinated. Trump Jr. tweeted a clip of Harris’ comments later on Friday, adding: “Given the Ana Navarro news, I think it’s time for a national conversation about the dangers of Covid-19 & obesity,” he wrote.

Navarro on Saturday tweeted that she was “feeling good” and urged people to “get vaccinated and stay safe.” She also took a dig at Trump Jr., asking the eldest son of former President Donald Trump to speak with his father if he were so concerned about the effects of obesity on people.

“@DonaldJTrumpJr, thanks for your concern. I don’t have COVID,” she wrote.

“Fortunately for you, if you want to have a conversation about the effects of obesity on people with COVID, your dad is a phone call away…assuming he answers your calls. Or just ask your sister to call him for you.”

The former president weighs 244 pounds at 6 feet 3 inches tall, according to the results of his annual physical exam released in June last year. He was admitted to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for treatment after testing positive for COVID-19 in early October 2020.

The New York Times reported in February that officials were concerned that Trump would have to be placed on a ventilator because of the infection.
