Ahead of the Ram temple ‘bhumi pujan’ (ground-breaking ceremony) in Ayodhya on August 5, Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday shared pictures of the blueprint of the grand temple dedicated to Lord Ram’s mother, Mata Kaushalya.

The temple will be developed at Chandkhuri at the cost of Rs 15.75 crore.

Referring to Chandkhuri, a village situated near capital Raipur, as Kaushalya’s birthplace, thus the maternal home of Lord Ram, Baghel said that the original form of the temple will be preserved, while its premises will be beautified.

Baghel said that the blueprint for the temple has been prepared and tweeted the pictures of the same.

The temple will be a part of the state government’s ‘Ram Van Gaman Marg’ and will be developed in two phases, at a cost of Rs 15.75 crore. Since Chandkhuri is being developed as a tourist destination, public facilities will be developed.

He said that the foundation laying ceremony for the Kaushalya Mata temple was done on December 22, last year, along with the other sites in the ‘Ram Van Gaman Marg’.

The Chhattisgarh government is developing ‘Ram Van Gaman Paryatan Paripath’, a tourist circuit which will cover nine sites, believed to have been traversed by Lord Ram, during his 14 years of exile.

These nine sites are: Sitamadi-Harchauka (Koriya), Ramgarh (Ambikapur), Shivrinarayan (Janjgir-Champa), Turturiya (Balodabazar), Chandkhuri (Raipur), Rajim (Gariband), Sihava-Saptrishi Ashram (Dhamtari), Jagdalpur (Bastar), Ramaram (Sukma).
