With the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) kicking off
the year with arguably its biggest fight card of the year, the UFC 257 fight
card already loaded with a showdown between former Lightweight champion Connor
McGregor and Dustin Poirier got an intensity boost on December 31, as rapper
Eminem decided to drop a promotional video ahead of the fight.

Adding to the already building hype, Marshall Mathers,
popularly known by his on-stage name Eminem, went on Instagram to share the
video, captioning it, “Survival mode! #Higher #UFC257 @ufc @dustinpoirier
@thenotoriousmma” with the rapper’s very own track ‘Higher’ playing in the
background.

Reportedly, Eminem is a fan of the sport and has previously
used references related to the UFC such as Middleweight legend Anderson Silva
and his broken leg in the rematch against Chris Weidman.

With the return of ‘Mystic Mac’ barely three weeks away, the
card on UFC Fight Island also features fights such as Mx Holloway vs Calvin
Kattar and Jessica Eye vs Joanne Calderwood in the Flyweight division.

Conor McGregor has notably been a name attracting crowds,
as even those usually not in tune with the updates in the promotion have in the
past regularly filled up live audiences in UFC events across the globe, in main
cards such as McGregor vs Diaz 1 and 2, McGregor vs Nurmagomedov in October, 2018
and many more.

The flamboyant Irish superstar’s opponent in UFC 257, Dustin

previously against the likes of Khabib Nurmagomedov, Max Holloway, Eddie Alvarez
and Justin Gaethje, as per ESPN.
