A recent stunt in Dubai in the name of a gender reveal party has left wildlife activists and animal lovers stunned. The footage that has gone viral on the Internet shows that the couple used a real, live tiger to reveal the gender of their unborn baby.
The tiger, in the video, can be seen on a beach next to the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai. To the horror of onlookers, it is roaming freely unleashed. Soon after it approaches a bunch of balloons floating above the sand and stands up on its hind legs to pop one of the balloons.

As pink powder bursts out of the balloon, it gets pretty evident that the baby would be a girl.
According to local reports, the footage was shared two days back by Carlotta Cavallari, with a disclaimer at the bottom. “Tiger was not harmed and plastic was disposed of. Relax everyone,” she wrote.

Ever since it had been posted two days ago, the video has garnered more than 3 lakh views and registered more than 1,000 comments – a majority of those commentators have criticised the stunt.
“Absolutely disgusted. These majestic creatures are not on this planet for you to exploit for your own superficial pleasure!” one Instagram user wrote.
“A tiger’s place is in wilderness not as pet in Dubai or anywhere else,” another chimed in.
“This isn’t something to be proud of. These animals are not pets,” a person pointed out, while several others branded the video “ridiculous”.
Gender reveal parties became a trend in the 2000s and have only grown to become a trend with all kind of over-the-top vibes. A UAE-based Syrian influencers Anas and Asala Marwah hosted a gender reveal party last year at the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. Now beat that. Of course, there’s no end to it.
