The star of Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo, is the first individual to achieve 500 million Instagram followers.

The well-known Portuguese footballer was the first prominent individual to gain a sizable following on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. 

The superstar is currently being followed by more than 10% of the global population. A recent image that Ronaldo posted with Argentine footballer Messi went viral on Instagram.

Ronaldo receives $2.3 for each sponsored post on Instagram. The seventeenth-ranked sports celebrity, Virat Kohli and former Indian cricket team captain charges $1.7 million for each post.
