Former US President Donald Trump is finding himself at the centre of multiple court cases, however, has said that he can help mediate peace talks between Russia and Ukraine in the ongoing conflict.

Trump’s comments came on Truth Social, where he wrote several posts about the recent leaks in the Nord Stream and presented ideas on how to counteract the situation. In one of his posts, the ex-US President made claims that the pipeline in question was sabotaged and said that it could escalate in an unprecedented manner, even war.

“U.S. ‘Leadership’ should remain ‘cool, calm, and dry’ on the SABOTAGE of the Nord Stream Pipelines. This is a big event that should not entail a big solution, at least not yet,” Trump wrote in one of his posts on Truth Social on Wednesday, September 28.

As per the 76-year-old, the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine would not have taken place if he was the President when the war began as he would have extended ideas to diffuse the situation. This was not the first time Trump made a similar claim.

He also urged all concerned parties against making “matters worse” following the Nord Stream leak and advised them to act smartly.

“Do not make matters worse with the pipeline blowup. Be strategic, be smart (brilliant!), get a negotiated deal done NOW,” he wrote.

“Both sides need and want it. The entire World is at stake. I will head up group???” Trump added.

Trump’s proposition to head a team to diffuse the situation between Russia and Ukraine comes in contrast to his stand in the initial days of the war.

The ongoing Russia-Ukraine war began on February 24 this year. Earlier in September, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the partial mobilisation of 300,000 troops and said that his country will use all means to defend its borders, indicating the usage of nuclear armaments.

Following Putin’s announcement, US President Joe Biden launched a scathing attack against Russia, accusing them of shamelessly violating the UN Charter at the United Nations General Assembly.
