Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Vice President Maryam Nawaz insinuated an en
bloc resignation of the opposition’s 11-party alliance – Pakistan Democratic
Movement (PDM) members from assemblies. Nawaz said PDM is expected to make some
big decisions on December 8.

Maryam Nawaz’s comments came
ahead of a meeting between alliance members on December 8, reported Geo News.

“If we call
for resignations from the assemblies, you must be willing to stand by us. Do
not fall under any pressure”, Nawaz said to provincial and national
assembly members while addressing a social media workers convention in Lahore,
Geo News reported.

She also said that the party members must accept any cases registered
against them by the Prime Minister Imran Khan-led government, justifying this
by adding that the government was fearful of the opposition and registering
cases is the least they can do.

“You must take these charge sheets, string them together and wear
them proudly like a garland,” she told party workers.

She described the time after December 8 as a ”do or die” situation.

Nawaz put PM Khan in a fix as she challenged him to interact with the
people for two minutes, while addressing issues related to contraction of Pakistan’s
GDP, mass unemployment, unaffordable medicines, shortage of wheat, sugar, flour
and how the ”wheel of progress” has begun to spin in the other direction.

PDM has planned a rally at Lahore’s
Minar-e-Pakistan monument on December 13.

The unnerved Prime
Minister refuted the possibility of PDM getting the government’s nod on holding
anti-government rallies.

“We will file FIRs against everyone — from the kursi
wala
to the sound system handlers but won’t stop them(Opposition
leaders) from going there,” he said.

The PDM has held five similar
rallies in Peshawar, Gujranwala, Karachi, Quetta, and Multan since October 16.
