US President Donald Trump on Wednesday launched a fresh
attack on John McCain, the Republican senator who died in 2018, after McCain’s widow, Cindy McCain, endorsed Joe Biden for the upcoming election. In a particularly aggressive
tweet, the Republican leader once again criticised John McCain, who was one of
the few in the Republican party to openly reprimand him.

“I hardly know Cindy McCain other than having put her
on a Committee at her husband’s request. Joe Biden was John McCain’s lapdog. So
many BAD decisions on Endless Wars & the V.A., which I brought from a
horror show to HIGH APPROVAL. Never a fan of John. Cindy can have Sleepy Joe!” tweeted
President Trump.
Cindy McCain’s support for Biden, announced Tuesday, is a setback for Trump, who faces an uphill challenge in the election and boasts of having the entire Republican party behind him.

The widow of the former senator tweeted, “We are
Republicans, yes, but Americans foremost. There’s only one candidate in this
race who stands up for our values as a nation, and that is @JoeBiden.”
President Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden will face
questions about the COVID-19, the Supreme Court, race and violence in the
cities among others when they meet for the first 2020 presidential debate next
week.

The debate slated for September 29 at Case Western Reserve

“I don’t know which Biden is going to show up because I
watched him during the debates when they had 20 people on the stage … and I
watched him and he was a disaster,” Trump said, referring to the Democratic
primary debates.
