Trump also spoke about the United States’ image across the world and said countries had now stopped respecting the West. Russian President Vladimir Putin has been toying with the world nuclear because “he does not respect our leadership”, Trump said, media reports suggest.

The former President then moved his focus to the upcoming midterm elections in the United States, calling them one of the most important polls the country will ever conduct.

What do Biden’s approval ratings say about Ukraine?

According to a poll conducted jointly by the Washington Post and ABC News, 42% of Americans approve of Biden’s way of handling America’s position in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. About 47% of Americans do not approve of Biden’s actions.

Trump’s take on Ukraine

The former President has shifted his view on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine multiple times over the last two months. At first he said Putin was a “smart man” and the United States leaders were “dumb.”

At the Conservative Political Action Conference, the Republican said, “The problem is not that Putin is smart — which of course he is smart. But the real problem is that our leaders are dumb. Dumb. So dumb”, NPR reported.

As the conflict progressed and videos from Bucha started to emerge, Trump shifted his stance and said that the situation in Ukraine was nothing less than a “holocaust”. He even urged the Biden administration and the United States Congress to attack Russia.
