A drone delivering goods was attacked
by a raven in Harrison suburb of Australia‘s Canberra. The act was caught
on camera and the video went viral on different social media platforms.

A man named Ben Roberts was waiting for his coffee delivery and was
eagerly looking at the sky for the drone to come. Suddenly, he noticed a raven
was mercilessly attacking the drone it as it flew through its
territory. The bird was pecking hard at the device in a bid to take it
down.

Under the raven attack, the struggled to keep
flying but fortunately was able to deliver the food package to the customer
before taking flight again.

Drone deliveries are extremely common in Australia. These are being operated
by a program called ‘Wing’ in collaboration with Google to deliver essentials
from door to door which includes small packets of food, medicine, and coffee.

Answering feedback, Wing said, We’ve identified some birds in your area demonstrating territorial
behaviors and swooping at moving objects. While this is common during nesting
season, we are committed to being strong stewards of the environment and would
like to have ornithological experts investigate this further to ensure we
continue to have minimal impact on birdlife in our service locations.”

Video took social media by storm

After the video went viral on all social media platforms.
The netizens were divided  in the comment
section. While some thought it was hilarious, some felt that the bird had all
the right to ‘attack’ it. “Bird said not in my neighborhood,” a user
wrote.

This was not the first incident when a bird has attacked the drone. In
recent days, large
ravens nearly brought down at least two such aerial devices in the area.
