Ed Sheeran fans might be in for a little 2022 surprise. In his latest music video, the singer has subtly implied a possibility of a duet with pop star Taylor Swift on his single ‘The Joker and the Queen’ to be out next year.

“That is my next single, I’m super excited about it,” Sheeran said, adding, “I’ve done a collaboration for it that will come out in the New Year with someone I just love,” according to a Daily Mail report.

Apart from confirming a certain collaboration, the singer also dropped hints of who it could be in his recent music video ‘Overpass Graffiti’ from his album ‘Equals’. In a particular scene, he is seen holding a newspaper with references to Swift, his friend of nearly ten years.

He never took her name, but these tiny clues have let the viewers and fans to speculate.

In the video released in October, Sheeran was even wearing a leather jacket with a patch carrying Taylor’s Swift’s name on it, directly over the ‘Queen’. The newspaper he held also had two prominent headlines, one which mentioned Swift, and another that read, ‘Sheerio sleuths seeing the signs everywhere’.

“I’ve just heard ‘Shape of You’ has reached 3 billion streams on Spotify, which is absolutely insane. I remember this song hitting a billion and thinking that that was weird. The first song to hit 3 billion streams and I’m really, really chuffed with it. Thank you, Spotify, for your support over the years. We’ve had a great 10 years together and hopefully, we have a great 10 years more,” he said.
