Elon Musk revisited his earlier joke about buying Coca-Cola, tagging the beverage company in a tweet, and writing ‘Oh hi lol’.

Notably, this was Musk’s phrase when he revisited the purchase offer made to Twitter, a deal that the SpaceX and Tesla CEO has now closed at $44 billion

However, Musk doesn’t seem serious about buying Coca-Cola, since he began posting about it only after saying he wanted to make Twitter a place of maximum fun. The entrepreneur has hinted that he’ll be putting cocaine back into the drink once he purchases the company and reminded people of Coca-Cola’s slogan “Real magic is only a sip away.”

The National Institute of Drug Abuse, a United States federal body, states that Coca-Cola originally did contain cocaine, now a restricted substance in the country.

Since the world’s richest man is often known to joke about making purchases, his tweets about Coca-Cola have been taken with a pinch of salt. Before the actual purchase of Twitter in 2022, Musk had casually inquired about its price in a 2017 conversation thread on the social media platform.

If Musk were to really attempt to buy Coca-Cola, it should be noted that the company is valued at $87.6 billion, as of 2021, as per data from Statista, a German company whose speciality is consumer and market data. Coke’s market capitalization is also $285 billion, nearly the entirety of Musk’s net worth, which as per Bloomberg stands at $289 billion.

Further, shares for the company started at $65.56, on Thursday, which is significantly higher than the $54.20 per share offer that Musk extended to Twitter.

Apart from Coca-Cola, Musk joked about fixing the ice cream machines in Mcdonald’s as well, after purchasing the fast-food chain. However, the billionaire checked himself, saying “Listen, I can’t do miracles ok”.

Notably, broken ice cream machines or out of order ice cream machines at McDonald’s have become part of the internet meme culture, but the company actually faced numerous complaints in 2016 regarding this, as per the Wall Street Journal. It became the leading service-related grievance, and in 2021 was reportedly a part of a Federal Trade Commission (FTC) investigation.

The broken machines are mostly due to the difficulty of finding repair people specific to the company providing the machines, Vice reported.
