Message reactions are all set to be the next major feature coming to WhatsApp in the near future. WhatsApp users will be able to respond to messages sent by their friends using these reaction icons. This will work similarly to how Instagram DMs (direct messages) currently handle reactions.

WABetaInfo has now reported that a future update could include WhatsApp message reactions. However, the feature is still in the works and may not be available to beta testers anytime soon.

According to the report, each message will include a reaction info tab in addition to message reactions. Users will be able to see the various responses to a message in this section.

All reactions are listed in a ‘All’ tab, while other emoji reactions will have their own tabs, according to a screenshot. Users will only be able to respond to a message once, and their responses will be limited to six emojis, according to the report.

While the feature is currently being developed for WhatsApp for iOS, it is expected to be added to WhatsApp for Android in the near future.

WhatsApp is getting closer to integrating with Instagram and Messenger on a cross-platform basis.

It will also get a step closer to its cross-platform plans with the addition of this feature. Back in 2019, Mark Zuckerberg discussed it. Furthermore, I sers of WhatsApp will be able to interact with users of Instagram and Facebook Messenger without having to create a separate account for each of these apps.

Users of Facebook Messenger and Instagram can already communicate with one another. However, before WhatsApp can be added to the mix, both platforms must first implement end-to-end encryption, which has long been a feature of WhatsApp. This, however, may take some time.
