Frances McDormand won the BAFTA 2021 for leading actor, female, for her role in Nomadland. Before this, McDormand got her sixth Oscar nomination for acting and her first for producing Nomadland. By this, she became the first woman to pull this off.

A two-time Oscar winner, it would be safe to assume that she can win not only her third but fourth Oscar on April 25.

In the Oscars, McDormand is up against Viola Davis (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom), Andra Day (The United States vs. Billie Holiday), Vanessa Kirby (Pieces of a Woman), and Carey Mulligan (Promising Young Woman).
