Amid the bullying accusations by royal aides at Buckingham Palace, celebrities have come out in support of former actor Meghan Markle, who is now the former Duchess of Sussex. While ‘Suits’ executive producer John Cowan has called Meghan a ‘warm, kind, caring person’, her good friend Lindsay Jill Roth has said that ‘goodwill runs in her bones’.

Meghan’s allies and colleagues backed her in the bullying row days after the royal palace issued a statement saying they will be launching an inquiry to investigate her “manipulative” behaviour with royal employees. Meghan has called this move “a calculated smear campaign based on misleading and harmful misinformation”.

Several US commentators, including Meghan McCain, Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin have also extended their support to the former actor and accused the royal family of having “terrible racial hatred” for Meghan. “Those British papers really cannot tolerate that Prince Harry loves a black woman,” American writer Roxane Gay tweeted.

Meghan’s make-up artist friend Daniel Martin posted a defiant poem about ‘light and love’ in Meghan’s defence amid the claims that she forced out staffers at Kensington Palace and inflicted ’emotional cruelty’ on others. All these allegations started coming in soon after Harry and Meghan decided to get interviewed by American talk show host Oprah Winfrey. Their interview is scheduled to be aired on March 7.

The couple is currently pregnant with their second child. They moved to the United States last year after announcing their departure from the royal family.
