Despite a tragic shooting at a neighbouring shopping centre, a Harry Styles concert in Copenhagen was cancelled by the notice of authorities, contrary to initial reports of the show going on as planned.

The former One Direction member, 28, was scheduled to perform at the Royal Arena on Sunday night as part of his highly anticipated “Love On Tour.”

“My team and I pray for everyone involved in the Copenhagen shopping mall shooting. I am shocked. Love H,” Styles wrote in a Snapchat message, responding to the incident.

On Sunday afternoon, Danish police officials responded to a shooting at the Field’s shopping centre, which is less than a mile from the arena, which is located on the city’s southern outskirts.

According to police, several people were killed and others were injured, and a 22-year-old Danish man was arrested after being detained near the scene.

According to the PA news agency immediately after the shooting, the show was reportedly scheduled to go ahead since law enforcement in the area has communicated to organisers that it is safe to do so.

A later statement by show organisers, Live Nation, it was announced that the show will stand cancelled on the given date.

Styles tweeted an apology to his fans.

The royal palace said shortly after the shooting that a reception with Crown Prince Frederik related to the Tour de France cycle competition had been cancelled. The first three stages of the race were staged in Denmark this year, according to a statement from the palace. The reception was scheduled to take place on the royal yacht, which is docked in Soenderborg, where the third stage concluded.

‘Pearl Jam,’ ‘Queen + Adam Lambert’ are also scheduled to perform at the Royal Arena in the coming weeks.

Styles was scheduled to take his ‘Love On Tour’ act throughout the world in 2020 until the epidemic halted the live music industry.

The revised tour began in September 2021 in Las Vegas before travelling across the United States, with the European leg commencing off last month in Glasgow.

Styles’ most recent album, ‘Harry’s House,’ was well acclaimed by critics, and lead track As It Was recently reached number one in the UK for the tenth time.
