After YouTube fame Jake Paul and boxing legend Floyd Mayweather engaged in what is being described as a “street fight” by many, social media lived up to its reputation of providing top-of-the-shelf meme content, most of which grilled Jake.

The fight, on its surface, looked like one that ended up with no harm, however, subsequent Instagram stories from Jake Paul seem to show a black eye, which indicates that Mayweather successfully landed his punches. The fight lasted for about one minute after Jake Paul, whose brother Logan Paul is scheduled to face Mayweather in the boxing ring next month, stole Mayweather’s hat and ran away yelling “Got your hat!”.

Some users on social media are also claiming that the fight was pre-planned and staged in an attempt to increase viewership on the upcoming June 6 match between Logan Paul and Mayweather.

Jake Paul, who has been in the crosshairs of netizen’s memes, had his own way to react to the incident. The 24-year-old swiftly posted a series of stories from his Instagram handle about the fight, taunting the 44-year-old boxing champion.

He even changed his username on Twitter to “GOTCHA HAT” and went on to start a “limited range” series of hats with the same name.
