The scare of heat continues in Europe. A recent video from Spain is going viral where a train is seen passing through a burning wildfire. Passengers can be seen in shock and scared to see the fire on both sides of the track.
The recent heatwave in Europe has caused havoc in developed nations like the UK, France, Portugal, and Spain. ‘’It suddenly became night and we could even smell the smoke inside the railcar. It was really scary to see how quickly the fire spread, just in a blink of an eye,’’ said Fransisco Seoane, the traveler who uploaded the video on Twitter.

Seoane said that no prior announcements were made regarding the wildfire. As the train entered the burning area travelers started panicking. The train company said in their clarification that none of the travelers were in any kind of danger so they decided to carry on with the journey.

The heatwave in Europe has caused more than 30 forest fires in Spain covering 54,300 acres of land. France is also facing extreme forest fires as 42,000 acres of French land is reported to have been destroyed by this year’s wildfire. The United Kingdom is also troubled by the heatwave as the temperature has been forecasted to touch the 42C mark on Tuesday. London’s Luton Airport was disrupted for hours when part of the runway was damaged by the scorching heat.

Portugal recorded the hottest day of the summer on Thursday. The scorching day hit the 47C mark. The wildfire has caused at least 2 deaths in the country. Portugal has faced similar circumstances in 2017 when 66 people lost their lives in wildfires.

Western Europe is currently facing ‘the heat’ while forecasters believe that the heatwave will head to the north. Countries like Germany and Belgium may see temperatures touching 40C in the coming days.
