Tina and Athar’s interfaith wedding had generated interest as well as caused a backlash with a section of right wingers on social media calling their marriage an example of so-called “love jihad”.
“Love jihad” is a phrase used by detractors to describe what they allege is an act of manipulation by Muslim men to woo Hindu women and force them to convert.
Tina Dabi and Athar Ali’s marital problems came to the fore when Tina Dabi removed ‘Khan’ from her surname on social media. Later Athar Ali Khan reportedly unfollowed Tina Dabi on social media, reports Times Now.
