Pakistan will get to host the 2025
Champions Trophy, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced Tuesday. Pakistan
has been looking to host international series for a long time and the
announcement came as a major relief to the country’s cricket board. The ICC has
selected 11 full members and three associate members to host major tournaments
over the next decade.

Pakistan won the Champions
Trophy for the last time in 2017. However, it has been over a decade since
Pakistan has hosted international cricket matches. International matches in
Pakistan were discontinued after terrorist attacked a Sri Lankan team bus in
2009. New Zealand, who were scheduled to visit Pakistan for a series earlier
this year, backed out of it citing security reasons.
