Suicide Squad star Idris Elba has teased a potential MCU
return in the forthcoming Thor: Love And Thunder. The movie is a sequel to
Thor: Ragnarok and is all set to be premiered on May 6 next year.

However, it
appears to be a possibility that Elba could reprise his role as Heimdall for
the first time since 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War.

While speaking to Comicbook.com, Elba was asked if there was
any hope of a return for his Thor character – and whether he considered himself
a “DC exclusive” actor now after seemingly dying in Marvel’s Infinity War.

The
actor replied, “I think that I’m excited about the possibilities in the DC
world, and I think the word of choice to make note of is the word ‘seemingly.’”

The actor has appeared as the Asgardian Heimdall several
times throughout the Marvel franchise. Idris Elba portrays the character of
Heimdall has often assisted Thor in his battles and quests, ultimately meeting
his end at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.

As Marvel Comics fans
already know Heimdall as a powerful Asgardian god, it means the team does not
have to stretch the internal logic too far to bring him back in the upcoming
sequel.

For now, nothing has been confirmed, but it is worth noting
that this is not the first time fans have been left to speculate over
Heimdall’s imminent resurrection.

Waititi recently shared several photos of himself with Idris Elba as the pair
enjoyed a rugby match with one another in New Zealand. With all these theories
combined, it does suggest that viewers may indeed see Heimdall again.
