Old photographs of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan have surfaced on the Internet and are being shared by social media users leading to several media houses picking it up for use.

The images being shared are allegedly from Imran’s ‘Real Freedom” rally in Wazirabad on Thursday, November 3.

News agencies ranging from the Economist, Times Now, NDTV to British TV personality Piers Morgan shared the old image as if it was shot at the November 3 rally.

The photograph shows Imran Khan lying on his back with his hands in the air lying on the bed. While it might be interpreted as him being in pain, the photograph is actually from 2014 when the former Pakistan PM was on ‘dharna’ (protest).

The other blurry image, which shows Imran being held up is actually an image from 2013 which was after he had fallen during a rally and was being picked up by people.

Reverse searching the images provides the truth in a couple of clicks. The first image was posted by Imran himself from his official Twitter handle in 2014. It was taken at a time when  Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf supporters and politicians were taking part in sit-in protests across the nation against then PM Nawaz Sharif, demanding his resignation.

The second image from 2013 was from an incident at a rally when Imran suffered serious injuries to his head and back after falling off a platform in Lahore. He was treated at the Liberty Hospital in the city before being discharged after being treated there for two weeks.

Imran was attacked by two gunmen during a rally in Wazirabad in Pakistan’s Punjab Province. A shooter fired at the politician who was standing on top of his campaign truck. Imran was hit in the leg by three bullets. He has been reported to be in no immediate danger.
